I have huge lips, which makes it imperative that I keep them from looking like crusty, cracked face flappers.

While I ADORE shopping at Sephora and Ulta and the MAC counter, this fact remains:

I live in a small town, I have a wailing baby, and most of my shopping treks are to the drugstore or grocer’s.

The rest of my shopping is done online, when Maisie is passed out.

L’Oreal Glossy Balm was a pleasant surprise.  I chose #240 Pink Me Up mostly because it looked cute and I could grab it before the baby tried to climb out of the shopping cart and onto my head.  I would have purchased more colors, but I feared for my child’s safety, as she is not a very good judge of heights and still doesn’t understand that gravity can cause owwies.

The pigment was lovely and sheer, staying power was good for a light gloss.  The best part for people like me who tend to get that gross lip crud buildup (is there a name for it?) on our lips- NO buildup, nada, nothing.  It kept my lips supple and didn’t smear all over my face when the kid tried to wipe off the strange color on Mommy’s lips.

I’d buy more, if I could get to the drugstore again without worrying about her escaping the shopping cart.
