Let me get one thing straight: I am generally a HUGE FAN of the makeup company NYX. Their products are sublimely affordable and of a higher quality (usually) than most drugstore brands.
If you want to know more about this company (which has since been sold to L’Oreal), read all about it here:

I love their Doll Eyes mascara- it holds tight, even in the most humid of circumstances. I also adore their lip glosses and BB cream and their fat eyebrow pencil with the ‘push up’ lighter color on the other side.
However, these jumbo pencils were a BIG let down. I own a several of these (thanks to great sales and an inability to stop buying makeup), but I am going to focus on my favorite, Electric Blue, for this post.
I admit, it may be partially my fault. I have extremely oily skin around my eyes as I get older. Raccoon eyes are a frequent problem now. I want to love this pencil so much- the color is so incredibly pigmented. It makes for nicely colored clown eyes an hour later. I did not try it yet with eye makeup primer, but that is my next goal.
Who am I kidding? I have high-end eye pencils and gel pots in similar colors that don’t budge, even without primer. I will probably stick to those.
I’d give this a 2.5 out of 5.

as much as it pains me to post this gross photo, I feel like I need to share my smeared, bloodshot raccoon eyes with the world…
For those who can’t figure out how to sharpen their jumbo pencils, see the video below-
Tutorial on how to sharpen their jumbo pencils:
a lot of my makeup artist friends keep telling me “USE AN EYE MAKEUP PRIMER UNDERNEATH IT FIRST!!”
I know I should, but I have a 10 MONTH OLD BABY with separation anxiety… ain’t nobody got time for that!
I am super lucky if I can even PUT makeup on most days-
