We bought her the book “Good Night Moon” today. When R read it the first time to her, he discovered that she started bawling during the “good night” parts.
She absolutely fell to pieces! She had him read it to her a few more times and always started crying and getting sad at the same parts!
This was her first time (well, she made him read it 4 or 5x in a row) reading it…
After this vid was made, she ‘read’ it TO us (by turning the pages and saying “good night” to each page)- by the end of the book again she was pouting/sobbing and wiping tears.
This is very unusual. This child LOVES books, but they’ve never made her so emotional.
This Birchbox Sampler was purchased with my Birchbox points- the lash curler was a free gift (using a coupon code).
The box contains 3 different Benefit mascaras: They’re Real, Bad Gal, and Roller Lash.
The Bad Gal mascara sample was disappointingly dry.
They’re Real is amazing, one of my favorites. It gives fuller, thicker lashes… but I have to use a waterproof sealer over it (I use NYX mascara sealer) or I get raccoon eyes.
The Roller Lash mascara gives great length and doesn’t clump at all.
All in all, I think this was one of their better sampler packs. I absolutely love Benefit mascaras!
The Eyeko lash curler was nice, too. My lashes are extremely difficult to curl and I generally don’t use lash curlers because I’ve had issues in the past with cutting off my lashes by accident with them.
this month’s theme is “All Wrapped Up”
As I was hurrying to post my late Birchbox reviews, I received December’s in the mail.
I am not a huge fan of Birchbox, which I’ve mentioned before. Their samples are very small- and they tend to repeat their brands.
The Coastal Scents eye shadow sample was incredibly small- thank goodness it has great pigmentation!
If you only have $10 per month to spend on a subscription service, I recommend Ipsy over Birchbox any day.
That being said, I’ll keep my subscription a bit longer. I cancelled Birchbox Man this month, because it was a waste of $20 a month.
it seems to me that Birchbox spends all their money on packaging and shafts you on content
this eyeshadow was smaller than I expected
pigmentation was surprisingly good
I was searching high and low for decent wellies that could take me into the wet, cold Michigan winters, too. A friend of mine suggested Aigles and I am so glad that I listened to her!
Aigle rain boots have been hand made in France since 1853. The quality is amazing!
I found a lovely pair of olive green, faux fur lined Aiglentines.
These boots run a bit big, as most wellies/rain boots do. I am usually a size 40 or a 9.5 US. The boots I ordered were a 39 or 8.5. They fit perfectly.
I would suggest most people size down 1 size when ordering.
I hate socks, so the fur lining makes up that. My feet stay dry and warm, even after walking in the muck for hours. They’re super comfy, too-
Aigles fit snuggly- and do well over skinny jeans and leggings. I have very muscular calves and haven’t had any problem with them being too tight.
This won’t be my last pair of Aigles. I plan on getting more in different colors.
I am super late reviewing my subscription boxes… this was November’s Birchbox.
These reviews are going to be super brief. I am not really enjoying my Birchbox subscriptions and have already cancelled Birchbox Man.
I think Ipsy is a much better subscription service- you get more ‘bang for your buck’.
Inside, I received a hairspray, some hair masque, a face cream, a stinky body wash, and eye brow mascara.
The hairspray had a huge scratch down the front- but I liked it.
The superskin moisturizer was just okay.
The brow mascara was the best item in the box.
Nice gash in the hairspray, Birchbox.
Photo of my brows using some of the brow mascara.
This is the last Birchbox Man box I will ever receive- I cancelled the subscription.
Honestly, I don’t think the subscription is worth the $20 USD per month.
This was my first glimpse of the box (above).
The cashmere hat was nice and warm- besides that, it was basically the same ole same ole stuff we received every month.
I think that Das Boom stuff stinks…
