When she went to bed, I finished the owl lamp she wanted so badly. I wasn’t going to pay 250 bucks for a resin one from a bit company. Instead, I picked up a small vintage bisque owl lamp from the 60s or 1970s and spray painted it in a copperish metallic; bought a 20 dollar burgundy shade from the grocery store and painted it with her initials in Gryffindor colors- and put it on her nightstand while she slept. She is going to be shocked when she wakes up!
THIS MORNING:
SO frustrated- not by my weight, even though I’ve stayed around same for a couple of days- but by my COVID RECOVERY. My weight loss and skincare I am super pleased with… my tachycardia is improving, but not fast enough for my liking.
Tonight I made Filipino garlic fried rice with chicken and it was almost EXACTLY spot on- or maybe because it’s been too long since I’ve had rice, idk. Enjoyed food for first time in eons.
Went down .2 of a pound and thrilled! My tachycardia is still here, but it seems to be lessening since I removed the NyQuil and CoQ10. I will add back the Ubiquinol to see if that wasn’t the culprit once my heart rate goes back to normal.
Been doing a lot of rebounding (albeit gently) on the leapsandrebounds.com rebounder (10% off with purchasing using code MISSMAISIE10). I also started a squat challenge. Getting my cardio done frequently with the rebounder helps my autoimmune problems, gets my FitBit steps in, and keeps me sane… it also lowers my heart rate.
Am in a reels making brush up course, so I made this while rebounding… I didn’t try very hard, but it’s a start LOL
THE BAD NEWS: my resting heart rate is up to 78, which is what I worked so hard to remedy in the previous month with regular exercise. I added Ubiquinol (COQ10) and COVID to my life this week, so maybe that has something to do with it. I am not going to take the supplement tomorrow morning and see how my heart rate fares. I don’t think it is the Ubiquinol doing it- I think the 2 weeks of Nyquil may be partially to blame. The studies done on vitamin D3 and Ubiquinol as preventative treatments against long-Covid disorders are compelling:
I will also give up the NyQuil tonight, because it DOES have a history of raising the resting heart rate.
I forced myself on the rebounder throughout the day (and forced myself to eat) because that is usually the best way to lower my heart rate fast… and keep me moving when locked in the house. I also super-hydrated… and washed my face and did a L’BRI facial peel on a FB Live.
Maisie is feeling better, thank goodness, even if she looks feral in the next photo. My friend sent her a Laura Ingalls Wilder book via post and Maisie was over the moon.
Up .2 of a pound this morning, but I am in covid recovery and this doesn’t even bother me. In the past, it might have sent me into a downward spiral, but no more.
This new eating program has changed so much about how gentle I am with myself and perceptions about weight loss- much in the same way L’BRI skincare changed my ideas about getting older and aging skin.
I feel very blessed to have both of these programs in my life now. I am SO grateful, beyond words!!
That being said, my heart rate is now 78 today- Covid has done some ugly things with my heart and tachycardia during my 3 bouts. It’s frustrating, but the only solution I have is to do more rebounding on my Leaps & Rebounds mini-trampoline. Cardio helps loads with reducing the resting heart rate and I try to get on EVERY HOUR for a few minutes. I use my FitBit to monitor my vitals and steps. 12k of steps is always my goal (for now). Lately, I have been barely getting 9k, so this must change.
If you want to get a rebounder from leapsandrebounds.com I have a lifetime 10 percent discount MISSMAISIE10 you can use. This company SAVED MY LIFE after my pulmonary embolism and previous Covid bouts and I cannot thank them enough.
Today was our 2nd live in a four-week series to Living A Beautiful Life. Click on the image below 👇👇 & watch the replayI am SOOO excited about our special guest. She is truly an amazing Linktr.ee/missmaisieandme for yours!
Covid has been hard on my heart… my heart rate jumped this week:
Ooooh- my friend came by to see me for the first time since this diet began and said I look A TON THINNER. I snapped a pic before my shower and I am amazed at how tight the skin is on my body and how my belly fat is just *POOF* gone!
I am feeling this weight loss thing. I feel like I am getting BACK TO ME again…
tonight’s anthem kicks off my evening-
Cooking Hoppin’ John (black-eyed peas and rice), collard greens, cornbread tonight for NYE. Stayed on plan all day and am ok with this. I don’t plan on drinking more than a toast of bubbly at midnight, so I am good.
hoppin john, cornbread, collard greens for New Year’s good luck!
I was horrified to discover Betty White didn’t even make it to her own 100th birthday. This must be the Harbinger of the Apocalypse if there ever was one. So sad. This doesn’t bode well for 2022.
More pics of our evening- I didn’t drink. It was a nice, chill night with fam. Wore makeup for the first time in eons.
RESTING HEART RATE:67 (had a bit of fever last night, so that explains the slight spike) 9,226 steps 20 min cardio

We become invisible as our skins dry and shrivel like the petal of a rose.
It doesn’t have to happen. We have L’BRI. Water the flower that feeds your soul and take back the power you have to create your visage and reality- in a healthy and natural way.
Don’t grow invisible- grow fearless and redefine what age is.
5 MONTHS OF L’BRI before/after pics!!!! I took the before photos during a lupus flare in February and I am currently in the midst of another flare. 52 yrs old. No filters, no makeup, hadn’t washed my face yet.
I started with the gentle samples for a week and moved on to the 8 piece anti-aging kit for combination skin.
My butterfly rash, age spots, and pores diminished like magic. Aloe is really miraculous.
