Day 39-Over 50 and Weight Loss Diary- FRUSTRATION

LAST NIGHT:

3 am and I have insomnia. The kiddo has to be up tomorrow for her horse riding lesson since the Pandemic began and she is super excited.

When she went to bed, I finished the owl lamp she wanted so badly. I wasn’t going to pay 250 bucks for a resin one from a bit company. Instead, I picked up a small vintage bisque owl lamp from the 60s or 1970s and spray painted it in a copperish metallic; bought a 20 dollar burgundy shade from the grocery store and painted it with her initials in Gryffindor colors- and put it on her nightstand while she slept. She is going to be shocked when she wakes up!

THIS MORNING:


SO frustrated- not by my weight, even though I’ve stayed around same for a couple of days- but by my COVID RECOVERY. My weight loss and skincare I am super pleased with… my tachycardia is improving, but not fast enough for my liking.

Tonight I made Filipino garlic fried rice with chicken and it was almost EXACTLY spot on- or maybe because it’s been too long since I’ve had rice, idk. Enjoyed food for first time in eons.

Tomorrow I will have shrimp something or other.

I was able to get my steps and cardio in. I need to get my strength training/yoga started… which I keep saying, but have yet to do.

Day 39-

RESTING HEART RATE:Β 78 STILL, but it went lower tonight when I slept.

Combatting the dreaded C-word and a little less tachycardia today. Worked like a maniac. Sat of sofa. Did some rebounding.

Day 36-Over 50 and Weight Loss Diary- Covid Tachycardia and More Weight Loss

Went down .2 of a pound and thrilled! My tachycardia is still here, but it seems to be lessening since I removed the NyQuil and CoQ10. I will add back the Ubiquinol to see if that wasn’t the culprit once my heart rate goes back to normal.

Been doing a lot of rebounding (albeit gently) on the leapsandrebounds.com rebounder (10% off with purchasing using code MISSMAISIE10). I also started a squat challenge. Getting my cardio done frequently with the rebounder helps my autoimmune problems, gets my FitBit steps in, and keeps me sane… it also lowers my heart rate.

Am in a reels making brush up course, so I made this while rebounding… I didn’t try very hard, but it’s a start LOL

Day 35-Over 50 and Weight Loss Diary- I AM DOWN TO 161 FROM ALMOST 180!! WOOHOOOO!!!

I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES THIS MORNING!! I AM DOWN TO 161!!!! This is INSANE!!
BEST. DIET. EVER.

THE BAD NEWS: my resting heart rate is up to 78, which is what I worked so hard to remedy in the previous month with regular exercise. I added Ubiquinol (COQ10) and COVID to my life this week, so maybe that has something to do with it. I am not going to take the supplement tomorrow morning and see how my heart rate fares. I don’t think it is the Ubiquinol doing it- I think the 2 weeks of Nyquil may be partially to blame. The studies done on vitamin D3 and Ubiquinol as preventative treatments against long-Covid disorders are compelling:

I will also give up the NyQuil tonight, because it DOES have a history of raising the resting heart rate.

I forced myself on the rebounder throughout the day (and forced myself to eat) because that is usually the best way to lower my heart rate fast… and keep me moving when locked in the house. I also super-hydrated… and washed my face and did a L’BRI facial peel on a FB Live.

Maisie is feeling better, thank goodness, even if she looks feral in the next photo. My friend sent her a Laura Ingalls Wilder book via post and Maisie was over the moon.

Day 34-Over 50 and Weight Loss Diary- Covid Recovery Mode & What I’ve Learned From a Month of New Eating

Up .2 of a pound this morning, but I am in covid recovery and this doesn’t even bother me. In the past, it might have sent me into a downward spiral, but no more.

This new eating program has changed so much about how gentle I am with myself and perceptions about weight loss- much in the same way L’BRI skincare changed my ideas about getting older and aging skin.

I feel very blessed to have both of these programs in my life now. I am SO grateful, beyond words!!

That being said, my heart rate is now 78 today- Covid has done some ugly things with my heart and tachycardia during my 3 bouts. It’s frustrating, but the only solution I have is to do more rebounding on my Leaps & Rebounds mini-trampoline. Cardio helps loads with reducing the resting heart rate and I try to get on EVERY HOUR for a few minutes. I use my FitBit to monitor my vitals and steps. 12k of steps is always my goal (for now). Lately, I have been barely getting 9k, so this must change.

Day 27-Over 50 and Weight Loss Diary- Covid Test Day and More Lethargy…

I was the only one to find a molecular test in my fam and had it today- now to wait 1-2 days until the results are in. I feel marginally better but SO TIRED. Sleeping off and on and rebounding is nearly impossible.

My appetite is gone, but plugging away with the fuelings. I lost .2 of a pound and that was nice.

R and Maisie were able to assemble the bookshelf. The bed arrived as well, but no energy to complete that task.

Best surprise was an Art Deco ring I designed and custom-made as a gift to me a month or so ago. It is 14k white gold, 2 ct center stone (H), and sapphires for Maisie’s birthstone. My mom wore a similar one all my life, but it was stolen along with her jewelry box full of family heirlooms when she went into nursing care. I am now making my own heirlooms to pass down to my daughter.

I had it made to look like an eye symbol, for good luck. Maisie wore it for a bit. I love it so much. I usually don’t splurge for myself (my mom always did, she lived at her jeweler’s), but I had a gut reaction regarding this ring. I am glad I did.

I am a little disappointed that I don’t even feel well enough to move a bit. I haven’t worked in a while and that is not my norm. I can barely focus on anything with the headaches that keep coming and going. Queasiness hit about 7 pm and I couldn’t think of anything I’d want to eat for my lean and green meal.

I eventually had a garlic soup with kale and sausages, which seemed to calm my tum down. I didn’t get the 5th fueling in.

8. Bought a new black 2 door hardtop Mini Cooper that I affectionately call “Roger”

9. Accidentally sampled an all natural skincare line on my 52nd birthday and somehow became an executive manager for this company after it made my face Benjamin Button back in time and managed my autoimmune skin.

It’s called L’BRI… do you even L’BRI, brah? Nobody’s heard of it, really, but it WORKED for me. I had no experience with this type of sales before… but I feel like the good faerie of skincare now. Life-changing- even if I don’t fall into the direct sales stereotype AT ALL.

10. Took up a market stall at a well-known local farmer’s market and began doing in-person readings with my long time friend and business partner, Gidget, over the summer called The Rowan and the Oak.


I know I rarely talk about my ‘real work’ since having Maisie- I took a few years off- but I have been a psychic and medium (large now, thanks to the Pandemic) for over 30 years. My other biz page is Psychic Jess Anderson.

11. Adopted a Pembroke Welsh Corgi pup named Rowan Magnus the Magnificent. He is a mischievous little Cancerian with a moon in Aquarius and lots of Leo.

12. Binged “Vikings” on Netflix.com and spent the entire winter 2020-21 sewing/designing/embroidering Viking and Medieval inspired wool and linen ‘Plague-wear” for the entire family (coz I am nerdy like that).

13. Maisie raised money and made her own monarch butterfly sanctuary in 2019
