vintage baby dress and toy giraffe
Ever since R bought that 2.5 ft toy giraffe for her birthday, she’s been OBSESSED with it.
Today it hit it’s pinnacle: she refused to eat or go anywhere without it. She cried every time you took it away, even for a minute.
We haven’t named it yet, but she calls it “G’affe”.
Today’s outfit is a late 1940s-early 1950s vintage baby dress I found on eBay. It is made of cotton and dotted swiss. I adore retro baby dresses- the quality and construction (and price) can’t be beat! I should have ironed it, but I have no time for that.
I really wonder how my grandmother dealt with 4 daughters and all those dresses to iron! I know people say that they ‘sprinkled the dresses with water’, but the details are sketchy. One of my friends showed me how to iron puffed baby sleeves and it is kind of like those Imelda Marcos butterfly sleeved Filipino dresses.

We turned our backs for a MOMENT and she whipped off her bottoms!
Maisie had a TON of temporary tattoos applied, to match Claire’s from Claire Lush Designs. It was ghastly trying to remove them after. The actual photos (not the ones above, those are from my phone) were done by Kitty Lee Photography.
She wore a cute little bikini from Babi-kini.
I will post more photos of the behind the scenes later- ended up dropping my iPhone in the bath tub and now I am semi-crippled from technology.
Today she’s in a little cotton sundress from India with her thai silver baby anklets, Art of Cure raw Baltic Amber teething necklace, and a cute white hair bow.

New Silver Cuff Bracelets from Claire Lush Designs!
Got more baby jewelry swag in the mail today from Claire Lush Designs!
In today’s package, she received a V-shaped silver cuff and a heavier silver patterned cuff, plus two thin silver cuffs for a friend’s daughter.
They look ADORABLE on Maisie. I had to move the Puravida bracelets over to the other hand, which is no mean feat when you have a squirming 10 month old.
A happy Maisie with Papa (my dad)
My parents were here visiting, so photos were snapped with the kid only in her diaper and jewelry. She’s going through a “MAMAMAMAMAMAMA” phase and doesn’t want anyone but me usually, so it’s a good thing when people visit and she goes to them- gives me a slight break, which I sorely need. She refused to nap for 2 days and finally went down for one this afternoon.
She only seems to have 2 speeds lately: “Pick ME UP!” or “DANCE TIME!”
Here is a video of her dancing with my parents in the background:

I am so excited! Claire, from Claire Lush Designs, sent this photo of her newest silver baby cuff bracelets! I can’t wait to see which ones Maisie gets!
I’m a sucker for baby jewelry. My Filipino mother decked me out with bling from the time I popped out of her womb. I actually have worn the same sterling silver bangle on my arm since I was a year old- it’s been on my wrist for nearly HALF A CENTURY NOW. It used to have designs on it, but it’s since worn entirely smooth.
Maisie has been wearing baby jewelry since birth as well. One of my friends brought her a gorgeous hand beaded Native American baby bangle when we were still in the hospital. She’s never taken any of her jewelry off nor had any choking issues.

What I am reviewing today is a gorgeous custom made sterling silver and turquoise baby cuff bracelet by Claire Lush Designs. Maisie is actually now repping this brand, we love it so much! If you go to her Etsy shop you can order a pre-made bracelet for yourself for as little as $20.00- or get a custom one for your baby for just $35.00! She also carries an array of other jewelry and is quite talented.
I have been layering her silver bangles with other bracelets and it is such a boho, fun summer look!
